Paul A. Barber generously donated the park to Yamhill County in 1975.
Monroe Landing was conveyed to the county as part of the property sold by Amel & Zelda Funk for the Whiteson Landfill in 1971.
City of McMinnville donated the park to Yamhill County in 1975.
The purpose of the Whiteson Park Master Plan is to provide Yamhill County Parks and Recreation with an updated vision and conceptual design for the development of the Whiteson Park property.
The park's name was selected by the Cove Orchard community to honor longtime resident Wrex Cruse.
