Our Mission
Yamhill County Parks are unique natural, cultural, and historic places to be managed, preserved, and restored for people to enjoy outdoor recreation and educational activities. Yamhill County Parks include 17 parks located in rural settings throughout the county that together provide for a variety of recreational activities.
Based upon data last compiled by the Oregon Parks & Recreation Department in 2019, Yamhill County owns 17 developed and undeveloped park properties for a total of 253 acres. Thus, Yamhill County ranks 8th in the state in terms of the largest number of park properties it owns and also ranks 19th in Oregon in the total acreage of its park properties. In addition, based upon the 2022 census, Yamhill County ranks 26th of 36 Oregon counties in terms of park acreage owned per county resident.
Notices
Unless recreational areas for Yamhill County are closed or prohibited for use, all of Yamhill County's improved and unimproved park and recreation areas are authorized for recreational use only. Recreational areas explicitly closed or prohibited for use are not authorized for any use.
Yamhill County will close recreational areas under the following circumstances:
1. Lack of Maintenance Resources; or
2. Acts of nature cause conditions that render the area unsafe.
Yamhill County Parks will not be offering park reservations this season. All picnic shelters are on a first come first serve basis. No posting of names or reserved signs on shelters the day before or day of intended use. Special events may be considered on a case-by-case basis, contact our office to discuss your event.
