Crisis Services

Overview

Yamhill County Health and Human Services provides Urgent Mental Health Services 24 hours a day, seven days a week for adults and youth in psychiatric crisis presenting at our offices, local emergency departments, calling our crisis line or 988, or who are interfacing with law enforcement in the community. 

Services Include

• Crisis intervention
• Hospital liaison services
• Initial crisis screening assessment
• Linkage to psychiatric hospitalization or crisis respite services
• Pre-commitment investigation
• Telephone support and referral to medically appropriate care

Anyone from the community who needs help can walk-in and ask for support, no appointment needed! A Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) will meet with you to assess for risk and current needs. They can also provide a brief solution focused intervention and provide additional resources, if needed. If you would like to start services with one of our teams, the QMHP will assist you with that as well.  

Call-In Services

If you are experiencing a crisis, please call our crisis hotline at 1-844-842-8200. You can also contact the National Suicide & Crisis Lifeline by dialing or texting 988. Both of these services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. 

Once someone calls our clinic, the call will be transferred to a QMHP who will help support the caller and take the necessary steps to ensure safety. That may include calling Community Outreach Services (COS) for an in-person response or 911 for additional support, if needed. 

The David Romprey Oregon Warmline is also available for those in crisis. This consumer-run and operated Intentional Peer Support can be reached at 1-800-698-2392.

Off-Site Services

Emergency evaluations and crisis intervention can be provided at local hospital emergency rooms and the Yamhill County Jail.

Crisis Debrief for Schools

Yamhill County Family and Youth partners with Willamette Education Service District (WESD) to support schools in recovery when they have experienced an unexpected tragic event involving one of their school communities. Our staff provide support, to both teachers and students which could include psychoeducation and time and space to process the event. We provide the school with resource to manage any potential ongoing needs of their students.
