Restaurant Inspections & Scores

Yamhill County Environmental Health Specialists conduct unannounced inspections of licensed food service establishments once or twice per year according to Oregon statute.

Restaurant scores are based on a maximum of 100 points, with deductions for various types of violations. Violations that are cited on consecutive inspections double in point value. A restaurant must receive a score of 70 to pass the inspection.

Yamhill County Environmental Health is not responsible for inspecting food processing facilities, grocery stores, and bakeries. If you have questions or concerns with any of those local businesses you need to contact The Oregon Department of Agriculture Food Safety Division:

    Yamhill County EH Team inspects and licenses multiple types of facilities, such as:

    • Permanent and temporary food service establishments and mobile food units
    • Public swimming pools and spas
    • Tourist facilities (RV parks, bed and breakfasts, etc.)
    • Schools with USDA food programs
    • School food service facilities
    • Certified daycare operators
